Introduction
Commencing with Axsy's Summer '24 release, mobile-app notifications in Public Sector and Retail Execution variant orgs require Axsy's Visit Notifications managed package to be installed to deliver notifications.
Axsy Summer '24 Field Service variant orgs do not require an additional managed package, notifications are managed from the Axsy Summer '24 Field Service managed package.
Mobile App Notifications
Axsy's Summer '24 release provides the same notifications as previous Axsy releases for the industry cloud variants, these are summarised below.
Axsy Public Sector and Retail Execution
In-app notifications are sent as follows:
- To Users Assigned to or Unassigned from Visits
Users are notified when Visits are assigned or unassigned as follows:- Notifications are sent to users when Visits are assigned to or unassigned from them (except for users triggering notifications that are the assignees or prior assignees respectively)
- Notifications are sent to users when Visits are assigned to or unassigned from them (except for users triggering notifications that are the assignees or prior assignees respectively)
- To Visit Followers
- Notifications are sent to Visit Chatter feed followers when there are Visit Status field changes (except for users making Status field changes).
Axsy Field Service
In-app notifications are sent as follows:
- To Users Assigned to or Unassigned from Service Appointments
- Assigned Resource users are notified when Service Appointments for Work Orders are assigned to or unassigned from them (except for users triggering notifications that are the assignees or prior assignees respectively)
- Assigned Resource users are notified when Service Appointments for Work Orders are assigned to or unassigned from them (except for users triggering notifications that are the assignees or prior assignees respectively)
- To Work Order Followers
Notifications are sent to Work Order followers when:- Work Order fields change
- Text or files are posted to Work Order feeds.
Setting Up Notifications
Axsy Field Service
Installation
- Install the Axsy Field Service managed package into your org - check your support portal page for access to the installation links to the latest managed package.
Send a Test Notification
User A is a Field Service scheduler, User B is a Field Service mobile user
- User B is logged into the Axsy Mobile app
- User A assigns a Service Appointment to Field Service user B
- User B's Axsy Mobile app should receive a notification within 30 seconds
- If notifications are not being received, this may be due to a Custom Setting not being preserved during managed package installation, to resolve this:
- From Setup ➞ Custom Settings ➞ select the Axsy FSL Mobile custom setting for the Namespace Prefix axsy_mobile
- The Custom Field for Enable Triggers may be absent or it may not be correctly configured, click Manage
- Enable Triggers should be checked
- If Enable Triggers is not checked, click Edit and enable this or New if the setting is absent.
- Click Save.
- From Setup ➞ Custom Settings ➞ select the Axsy FSL Mobile custom setting for the Namespace Prefix axsy_mobile
Recommended Main Menu Settings
- If you have enabled the Side Menu (Main Menu) setting, you should include Notifications in the available menu options
- From Global ➞ Main Menu ➞ Visible Options include Notifications which will enable mobile users to retain a record of previous notification messages
- if you do not use the Main Menu then a Notifications quick link will be available at the bottom of the Axsy Mobile app screen, including a record of previous notification messages.
Axsy Public Sector and Retail Execution
Installation
- Install the Axsy Visit Notifications managed package into your org – check your support portal page for access to the installation links to the latest managed package.
Send a Test Notification
User A is a Visit scheduler, User B is a mobile inspector user
- User B is logged into the Axsy Mobile app
- User A assigns a Visit to inspector user B
- User B's Axsy Mobile app should receive a notification within 30 seconds
- If notifications are not being received, this may be due to a Custom Setting not being preserved during managed package installation, to resolve this:
- From Setup ➞ Custom Settings ➞ select the Axsy Visit Triggers custom setting for the Namespace Prefix axsy_mobile
- The Custom Field for Enable Triggers may be absent or it may not be correctly configured, click Manage
- Enable Triggers should be checked

Recommended Main Menu Setting
- In your Axsy Mobile Config Global ➞ Main Menu ➞ Visible Options, include Notifications which will enable mobile users to retain a record of previous notification messages.
Notifications During Migration to Axsy Autumn '24
When migrating an existing Summer '23 Axsy Field Service, Public Sector or Retail Execution org into an Axsy Autumn '24 org, users who have not fully transitioned over to Axsy Autumn '24 by using the Axsy Autumn '24 mobile app, Axsy Autumn '24 managed package and Axsy Autumn '24 feature bundle will not receive notifications. Once the migration transition is complete to Axsy Autumn '24 notifications will be received.
